To the editor:
Residents of the South Whidbey port district are fortunate to have two solid candidates running for District 2 commissioner.
Let me share a few things about Dean Enell that you might not know because he is too humble to tell you himself. Dean has been a trusted and loyal friend to me for more than 20 years. I know Dean well.
Dean is a “shirt off his back” kind of guy, who will do more than lend you a hand. He’ll lend you his whole body, his truck and tools, and then buy you lunch, before you even ask for help. When he offers to help, you’ll find he means it. I have never seen Dean shrink from any challenge. Whether it’s hard physical labor or the difficult work of local area planning, Dean is the guy you want at your side.
Dean is smart, and has admirable business skills. Aside from bachelor degrees in psychology and engineering, he is a licensed professional engineer, and earned an MBA from the University of Puget Sound. He put his business skills to work, and invested his Boeing engineer’s wages so successfully, that he retired at age 55.
Dean has integrity. For 20 years, he has shown me time and again that his honesty is beyond question. He is a man of his word, and a man who practices what he speaks.
Dean has been an activist and leader on local issues since he moved to South Whidbey 20 years ago. He has more hands-on experience and detailed understanding of the environment, people and institutions of South Whidbey than just about anyone. Dean has strong ecological values, but understands the need for economic balance in the port’s decisions. Learn more at www2/whidbey.net/dino.
Now is the right time for Dean Enell. Please join me in voting for Dean.
