The 15th annual Whidbey Island Highland Games will kick off this weekend.

Put on by the Whidbey Island Celtic Society, the event begins at 8 a.m. today at Greenbank Farm on Central Whidbey.

Main events for the festival include highland piping, drumming, dancing and traditional Scottish athletics.

Musical, cultural and a variety of Celtic performances are planned throughout the day.

Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors, military and students. Children 4 and younger are admitted free.
