Revenge was sweet for the Falcons as they beat Coupeville 13-3 in five innings last Friday.

“It was solid pitching, timely hitting, and seven bases on balls,” Guetlin said. The Falcons put it away in the third inning, with 10 runs.

Robert Kirby got things going with a two-out double down the left-field line. Nick Tenuta followed with a walk, and both were knocked in with a double by Trapper Rawls. Rawls was followed by singles from Colton Wilson and Eric Sparks. After two runners were walked in, Kirby picked up his second hit of the inning and completed the final 10 runs.

Luke Hodson threw well on the day, picking up his third win of the season and improving his overall record to 3-1.

The win was a tonic after the Falcons lost to the Wolves 10-2 on April 15.

“Offensively, it was a matter of not getting the key hit when needed,” noted Falcon coach Dave Guetlin. Five runners left stranded in the first two innings of play proved costly as well; 12 Falcons remained on base for the game overall.
