Linda Haddon, the Republican candidate for the state Senate in the 10th District, has received the endorsement of the state’s largest small business association.

Haddon is challenging incumbent Sen. Mary Margaret Haugen, a Camano Island Democrat, for the position.

The National Federation of Independent Business Washington SAFE Trust, the political action committee of NFIB/Washington, said Haddon scored an impressive 100 percent on the NFIB SAFE Trust candidate questionnaire.

The political action committee had earlier endorsed the two 10th District Republicans running for the state House of Representatives; Reps. Norma Smith of Clinton and Barbara Bailey of Oak Harbor.

Both incumbents are facing challengers this November. Tim Knue is battling Smith, while Patricia Terry of Camano Island is battling Bailey.

The committee said endorsements for Senate incumbents are based on support or opposition to several key bills over the past four sessions of the Legislature that were important to small business, and said Haugen did not meet the test.
