Melyssa Smith of Clinton received a scholarship to Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in New York City. The scholarship was awarded as a result of her successful audition at the Monsters of Hip Hop Dance Convention she attended Oct. 24-26 at the Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound, Wash. Famous choreographers and teachers such as Tabitha and Napoleon D’umo from the television show “So You Think You Can Dance” were present at the convention.
