Pastor Darrell Wenzek is preaching a series on “Christian Community” from the First Letter of John, near the end of the New Testament, at the Sunday service at South Whidbey Community Church.
Pastor Wenzek will give the sermon “A Life of Obedience,” based on 1st John 3:19-24, and believes a requirement for Christian community is to live in obedience to Christ.
Sunday worship is from 10 to 11 a.m. and is preceded by an adult learning forum at 9 with Stan Walker leading a study in the Book of First Corinthians, and Rick Zapata leading a study in the Book of Genesis: the lives of the Patriarchs. These are open classes and everyone is invited.
The community is invited to join South Whidbey Community Church for “Carols and Candlelight” at 5:30 p.m. Christmas Eve at the Deer Lagoon Grange. Dinner and fellowship will follow.
Home Bible studies are also offered; check the church website for times and locations.
All SWCC sermons and special adult forum events are recorded, and are available at www.whidbeychurch.org.
SWCC is a local independent, non-denominational church that welcomes everyone and gathers for worship at the Deer Lagoon Grange, 5142 Bayview Road.
