Sewers won’t clean up harbor | LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Array

To the editor:

People of Freeland, just say “no” to a sewer district.

The sewer is only necessary for land and property developers. There is no evidence that a sewer would improve the water quality of Holmes Harbor, as the source of the water pollution has not been determined.

Creating an assessing (taxing) agency will only bury homeowners in debt. I don’t think the state (from what I’ve been told, is broke) should be making grants and loans to a group whose sole purpose is enhancing opportunities for developers and businesses with the burden to be shouldered by homeowners.
