Members of the South Whidbey School District Board of Directors unanimously approved a proposal to purchase a yellow school bus during the regular meeting Wednesday, Dec. 18.
The proposal was made by Dan Poolman, assistant superintendent for business, for a Bluebird school bus. The bus costs $132,489.07 from Bryson Sales and Service of Everett and holds 84 people.
Funds for the bus will come from the Transportation Vehicle Fund, which has $246,174 available. At the end of the life cycle of the bus, the State of Washington depreciation schedule would reimburse the district for the purchase in one lump sum.
