The Island County Fair opens on Thursday, Aug. 18, which is also Good Cheer Day at the fair.

Representatives from the Good Cheer Food Bank will be at the front gate to accept donations of non-perishable food items. People who bring two cans of food to donate to Good Cheer’s Food Bank can get a ticket into the fair for half price.

The half-price ticket offer is good from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
