LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Rhyme is fine, but I’m not

Array

To the editor:

I have a lot of medical problems

believe me, it’s true

with God and my spouse

I make it through.

With costs of medicine

and exams and such

it is no wonder

I stress so much.

One hundred dollars

for steroid cream?

Unbelievable.

It makes me scream.

My husband hasn’t any insurance

not even a bit

no basic health

or one benefit.

We cannot afford

insurance for him.

Our cup of bills,

filled to the brim.

My insurance covers

some of my troubles, though medical

bills pile up

and sometimes double.

With interest added

and late fees too.

Tell me,

what can we

possibly do?

I have 11 different medical woes,

fybromyalgia, polyscstic kidney disease,

are a few of those,

No government help

I suppose.

God forbid we catch

the flu

more medicine

only times two.

We need medical coverage

for all our ails

our government tested but always fails

to completely cover

the ailing and sick.

The seat of their pants

need a swift kick

maybe then

we can get well

without creditors

and financial hell.

Socialized medicine

is what we need,

not outrageous bills

from medical greed.
