Albert H. Englund, 87, passed away on Aug. 29, 2007 due to heart problems.

He was born Oct. 13, 1919 to Hugo and Agnes Englund in Victoria, B.C. At age 3, his family moved to Seattle, where he graduated from Ballard High School.

He later served with the Army in World War II and subsequently graduated from the University of Washington.

In 1951, he purchased property on Whidbey Island. He enjoyed his summers and retirement years on Sunlight Beach.

Al is survived by his wife, Helen, of almost 59 years; son Rudy and wife Julie and grandsons Eric and Alex.

At his request there will be no services. Interment will be in Bayview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, any donations can be made to Senior Services of Island County, 14594 Highway 525, Langley, WA 98260.
