Jessie V. Ferry
Jessie V. Ferry, 82, died June 22, 2003, in Lacey.
Jessie V. Sigurdson was born June 17, 1921 in McHenry County, North Dakota, the eldest of four children of J. G. and Lara Sigurdson. The family moved to Bellingham in 1935, where she later graduated from Whatcom High School. Following her father’s death in 1937 the family relocated to Seattle.
In the 1940s she worked in the office of St. Luke’s Hospital in Seattle. In 1950 she returned to Bellingham, where she worked several years as a medical records librarian for St. Joseph’s Hospital. In the early 1980s she and her husband, William T. “Bill” Ferry, retired at Whidbey Island, where she was active in the auxiliaries of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. Her husband died in 1995.
Survivors include two sons, Ben of Lacey and Ken of Germantown, Tenn.; a brother, Jack, of Beaverton, Ore.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. June 28 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Lacey.
