Lucine P. Senescu, 91, died Dec. 19, 2003.
She was born May 25, 1912, in Fairfield to Frank and Tina Kootz. After graduating from high school, she attended Washington State University and Cheney Business School. Then then joined the civil service and worked in Juneau, Alaska, where she met Jack, the man she would marry. They were married for 61 years, until his death in April.
The couple owned the Circle Shop, a men’s and women’s apparel store on Queen Anne Avenue, Seattle. She was the buyer and bookkeeper for the store. They retired to Whidbey Island, where they built a home in the Holmes Harbor Golf Course development and pursued golf and travel. They also were members of the useless Bay Golf and Country Club. She loved golf and was very active in the women’s club.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Bishop of Freeland; two granddaughters, Kelli and husband, Jordan Stevens of Medford, Ore., and Staci and her husband, Ken Longe-Marshall of Surprise, Ariz.; five great-grandchildren, Kody, Nikki and Shelby of Medford, Ore., and C.J. and Courtney of Surprise, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held by the family.
