Kathryn Margaret Sale Jones, 51, died Jan. 1, 2003, as the result of breast cancer.
She was born June 6, 1951, to John Sale of Camano Island and Phyllis Sale.
When she was 3, her family relocated from Olgalala, Neb., to Seattle. She graduated from Lincoln High School.
She moved to Whidbey Island in 1987, where she farmed in the Maxwelton Valley overlooking Miller Lake. She provided livestock, milk and eggs for many families in the community. She enjoyed gardening, garage sales and the music of songbirds, especially peafowl that she raised.
She was proceeded in death by a sister, Susan Krona, and her mother.
She is survived by her husband, Mark Stovel; five children, Leah, Luke, Trygve, Tore and Rita; two brothers, David Sale of Camano Island and Kevin Sale and his wife, Elle, of Lynnwood; and two sisters, Nancy Sale of Camano Island and Debra Blaine and her husband, David, of Paducah, Ky.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, in the Fellowship Hall of Langley Methodist Church.
