B. Jean Nicolaysen

B. Jean Nicolaysen died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006 at her home in Freeland.

She was born in Emmett, Idaho a daughter of Harry and Georgina Adair Knox Jean moved from Seattle to Whidbey Island 35 years ago. She was a registered nurse and worked for Whidbey General Hospital in Coupeville for many years.

She was a member of the Polymer Clay Guild, Alone Together Group, Whidbey Stamping, The Artist Co-op of Langley, and the Puget Sound Mycological Society. She was also very active in the Senior Center Fun Band.

She is survived by her two daughters, Joal Johnson Tomlie and Patrice Rehngren; grandchildren, Angela Johnson, Jennifer Johnson, Douglas Johnson, Jr., Emily Willson and Jessica Willson; one sister, Mary Ellen Stevens; and her first husband, J. Philip Rehngren, M.D.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, John Nicolaysen in 1991.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10 at the Senior Center in Langley.

Arrangements are under the direction of Visser Funeral Home, Langley.
