Geraldine (Gerri) A. Cleveland, 68, passed into paradise on Aug. 29, 2007, in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 2, 1939, in Ellensburg, to Rinehart and Lois Laudensky.
Gerri and her husband Darwin lived on Whidbey Island for 33 years and retired in Lake Havasu City in June 2000.
They enjoyed many years of traveling in their motor home and shared beautiful memories of all of the scenic places they visited. Together they joined an organization called SOWERS, standing for Servants on Wheels Ever Ready, and traveled during the summers doing volunteer work for Christian camps and conference centers. Working together with other believers in Christ at various projects had been one of their most rewarding experiences. Gerri believed that God had truly blessed them as a couple with an abundant life.
Gerri is survived by her devoted, loving husband Darwin of 48 years; son Kevin (Trish) Cleveland; daughter Kimberlee (Randy) Perkins; two sisters, Judi (Bob) Tucker and Sue (Bill) Essex; five grandchildren, Heather, Megan, Colin, Nathan and Ryan; one great-grandchild Jonathan; foster daughter Tuvette (Kevin) McCroskey, and their two children Isaac and Lydia Rose.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7 at the Christian Missionary and Alliance Church, Langley.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Compassion International, Colorado Springs, CO 80997-0001, or Slavic Gospel Association, 6151 Commonwealth Drive, Loves Park, IL 61111.
