Rodney Michael “Mike” Smith, 39, a resident of Prairie Grove, Ark. formerly of Whidbey Island, died Sept. 12, 2007 in Prairie Grove in a tragic car accident.

He was born Jan. 23, 1968 in Edmonds, the son of James and Laurie Smith.

Survivors include his wife, DeeAnna Smith of New Orleans, La.; one son, Kurtis Smith of Prairie Grove, Ark.; three daughters, Katie Smith of New Orleans, Kayla Lawson and Kassie Lawson both of Stanwood; his parents, James and Laurie Smith of Langley; one sister, Jeanne Carty and her husband, Shawn of Bellevue, Idaho; one niece, Sarah Carty of Bellevue, Idaho; one great aunt, Loretta Kerr of Oak Harbor.

A funeral Mass will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28 at St. Hubert Catholic Church; internment to follow at the Langley Cemetery, Langley.

A reception/celebration of life will be held at 6 p.m. at the American Legion.
