Patrick Dennis Roan

Patrick Dennis Roan was born in Seattle Feb. 14, 1967.

In complete peace, his citizenship was claimed by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Oct. 12, 2006, in Everett.

He was preceded by his Grandpa Orval Sr. in 1994; his Grandma Laura in 1996; and his Uncle Orval Jr. in 1972.

He leaves temporarily behind his beloved son Kyle, dearly loved brother Tim; dear sister Alicia and sister Jen; his Mother Joan Posney; Father Don, also Kyle’s Mother Allison. He loved the children and especially his sweet nieces Elizabeth, Emily, Halley; his nephews, Indiana and Hayden. He also leaves several aunts, uncles and numerous cousins who loved him.

God gave him his best friend, Tony, whom he loved, and covered his base south with Garnett. He grew up in the Eastside area and graduated from Bellevue High School. He also lived in the Everett area and several years ago left his home on Bush Point to be close to his son in San Diego, Calif. and also was attending college and studying enviormental engineering.

He grew to love Creation and one of his favorite hobbies was to join with his companion and brother and become avid rock hunters. He also loved being with his son and going on adventures everywhere. He was a member of the Whidbey Island Rock Club.

His plans included transferring back his schooling to Washington and return to the island he loved and establish a home and base. His artistic gifts, culinary skills and talents earned him many experiences in life, as he pursued his search and goal setting. After many life trials and tests, he came to the place of uncompromising decision and made the right choice.

From his home fellowship on Whidbey Island, he embarked on his first mission to Honduras, where the children loved him and were blessed by his open heart to reach out to others with a helping hand. He found his mark, rose from the ashes, and came forth as a man after God’s own heart. While in California, he served with his fellowship at Journey Community Church, on missions trips to Mexico, also taking along his son Kyle. He met his new friends who invited him to Saturday night musical worship services at the Rock Church, where he served on the worship team, playing percussions, also filled in as sound tech. Patrick also served as a counselor at the last Billy Graham Crusade at Qualcum Stadium.

Patrick lived his life with courage and tenacity, always stepping out and risking the adventures, like bungee jumping and even a sky dive or two. He ran the race his Faithful Friend set before him, stayed the course, fought the good fight without compromise, and kept the faith. Most of all, he was faithfull to show his beloved son the pathway to wholeness and hope by example.

He loved his Lord, his family and friends, and looked forward to his true destiny.

He finished the race here, but has only just begun. Patrick will be deeply missed and loved always. To those who knew him, our lives have become richer and blessed by wittnessing a true overcomer, as his heart desire has always been to see those he loves to have peace and hope and faith, and above all, love one another.

There will be a memorial at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at South Whidbey Assembly, 5373 Maxwelton Road, Langley. The family requests in lieu of flowers, you may make donations in Patrick’s memory to San Diego Rescue Mission, 120 Elm St., San Diego, Calif. 92101.

We shall see him again. See Ya!
