A memorial service for Jack Kirschke was held Tuesday at the American Legion Hall on Barrington Drive in Oak Harbor.
Mr. Kirschke died March 11, 2004, at Careage of Coupeville.
He was born in 1921, went into the Coast Guard in 1941 and stayed there until 1949.
He then went to law school, and became deputy district attorney for Los Angeles County for many years before retiring to Whidbey Island.
Mr. Kirschke acted in many community theater productions on South Whidbey and worked for Warner Bros. Studios when they filmed movies in Coupeville.
He leaves his caregiver and best friend, Cricket Ramsey of Coupeville.
