Gregory Lynn Knutson, of Langley, died Aug. 29, 2003.

He was born in 1950 in Everett, but was raised and attended school in North Seattle.

He enjoyed the sea and spent several years in Alaska working in the fishing industry, and later at Lake Union Drydock, Seattle.

He settled on Whidbey Island 15 years ago. He had been employed at Lumberjacks, and was active with the American Legion.

He was preceded in death a few months ago by his best friend, Joey.

He is survived by his mother, Betty Hvitfeldtsen, of Langley; a brother, Kevin Knutson, of Bellevue; and two sisters, Kristine Boykin, of Roche Harbor, and Julie Schuster of Sammamish.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the American Legion.
