Michael Charles Barrett was born Jan. 4, 1939 in Seattle to William and Anne Barrett.

Mike grew up in Seattle and attended Roosevelt High School. He loved rebuilding, working on and racing cars with his friends. He also enjoyed swimming and skiing.

Mike joined the Navy in February 1957, and was honorably discharged in August 1962.

He made a career working for the Boeing Co., where he was known to all as “Biggie” and retired after 32 years of service.

Mike filled his life and the lives of others with his friendship, stories and a helping hand. He was an amazing man; we are all proud and lucky to have known him.

He passed away Nov. 26, 2010 in Bellingham. He is survived by his wife Kathleen; son Shawn Michael Charles Barrett; daughter Dawn; grandson Vincent; stepdaughter Ann Loeuy; granddaughter Katauna; and sister Susie Prescott.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4 at Moles Bellingham Bayview Chapel.
