Ottilie Gobel Bourne, 74, of Langley, also known to many as “Basira” or “Ojiba,” died April 26, 2003, at Everett Hospital.
She was born Nov. 27, 1928, in Nice, France. She lived on Staten Island, N.Y., most of her adult life. She moved to Whidbey Island in 1975.
She was a prima ballerina and taught dance at her own studio for many years. She was an accomplished painter and sculptor and taught classes in that field.
She is survived by a daughter, Michelle Berquist of South Seattle.
