Georgie Rose Barker Anderson, 90, died Nov. 1, 2003, at Careage of Whidbey, Coupeville. She was a longtime victim of Alzheimer’s Disease.
She was born May 4, 1913, in Riverton, Wash., to George and Myrtle Barker. In her lifetime she was a log truck driver for her husband and brother-in-law and hauled logs off Mount Baker, a waitress in a construction camp at the building of Ross dam, a beautician in Seattle, a cook in Prosser, and office cleaner in the Norton Building in Seattle for Bogle, Bogle and Gates.
She will be remembered for her beautiful, prize-winning flowers she readily gave to everyone. She was full of life, and will be remembered for her quick wit and ready smile. She was a very loving mother and grandmother who was very proud of her children.
She is survived by her daughter, Donnette Bash, and her husband, Charles, at Scatchet Head, Clinton; a son, Wayne Swanson, at Scatchet Head; six grandchildren, Darrell, Gary and Lonnie Bash, Debbie Bitts, and Marty and Wayne Swanson Jr. of Fairbanks, Alaska.
Private funeral services will be held at her daughter’s residence.
