Dorothy Nestor

Dorothy Mary Nestor joined her late beloved husband John Charles Arthur Nestor in the early morning hours of Sept. 4, 2010, following a short convalescence.

She is survived by her three boys, John Noel, Darryll James and David Arthur, a loving extended family, and a network of friends and acquaintances, all of whom miss her deeply.

Dorothy was born on Jan. 2, 1923, in Edmonton, Alberta, to Noel and Gladys Shropshire.

Her surviving family would like to extend a special thanks to Father Nigel and her beloved St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church.

Dorothy spent the last decade of her life first volunteering for, then participating in, the South Whidbey Senior Center’s “Time Together” program. It won’t be quite the same without her.

But, please know, Gen, Joan, Jackie, Doris, Bob, JoAnne, Debbie, Mark, Todd, Paul, Kristen, Maddie, Riley, Jacob, Brad, Britt, Evan, Anna Rose, Janet, Terri, Clarie, David, Richard, Helen, Hestia, Jim, Elaine, Roy, Georgina, Fern, Sue, Marvin, Nancy, Curly, Emma, Pat, Eleanor, her beloved Marine Johnny, and others too numerous to mention, her life would not have been the same without each and every one of you.

And those ominous storm clouds the weather service keeps warning us are gathering this fall? Ride them out. It’s just Johnny and Dorothy finally again arguing over how to prepare the turkey dressing. We all miss you, Mom.
