Gay McMaster Hill died peacefully in her sleep in Philadelphia, Pa., on Feb. 9, 2011.

She was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland on March 31, 1922, grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia, and lived most of her life in Seattle and on Whidbey Island.

She was pre-deceased by her husband Spencer, her daughter Bronwyn, and her son David.

She is survived by her son John, of Philadelphia; her daughters-in-law Dallett Hemphill of Philadelphia and Amy Hill of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and her grandchildren Spencer and Thea Hill, of Seattle, Evan and Alexander Hill, of Philadelphia, and Quinn and Sailor Hill, of Fort Lauderdale; and a host of devoted nieces and nephews.

Our tears fall like rain for she lived a life filled with love.
