Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Tillie W. Hansen went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 1, 2008.
Born Feb. 4, 1917 on Whidbey Island to Arthur and Minnie Gabelein, she moved to Seattle after high school where she met her future husband, raised her family and lived for most of her 91 years.
Tillie made an impression on everyone she met with her strong character and zest for life.
Her passions were cooking, gardening, dancing, painting and taking care of family and friends. She was always ready to lend a helping hand and had a big heart for those in need.
She is survived by daughters Linda Sawicki (Mike) of Tucson, Ariz. and Barbara Hansen (Jim Colla) of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; son Robert Hansen (Judy) of Camano Island; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Florence Biehn of Seattle; and, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Donald Hansen.
She taught us to laugh, to live, to care and stay true to family and friends. We will miss her always and never forget her lessons, her energy and her strength.
Remembrances may be made to Union Gospel Mission or Second Harvest Food Bank.
