Donald Raymond Burns was born on Dec. 29, 1957, in Everett, Wash. He passed away on Aug. 21, 2013 in Coupeville, Wash. He was 55 years old.

He is survived by his three children: Angela Brown, Aimee Rose and Robert Burns. He also left behind five grandchildren and seven siblings.

He was the youngest child of Robert and Myrtle Burns of Everett, Wash., both deceased.

Don was a longtime Whidbey Island resident. He was a retired chief engineer with Foss Maritime Company, and an Inland Boatmen’s Union member. He was happiest when he was on a boat, enjoying the water. He was a generous and fun-loving man, a proud father, and a loyal friend to many. He left us unexpectedly and far too soon.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial reception for food and sharing of favorite memories of Don. It will be held at 2 p.m. Sat., Sept. 21, at the Holmes Harbor Rod and Gun Club.
