A celebration of the life of Bobby Crosby, on what would have been his 61st birthday, will be held Dec. 26, 2012, at 6 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 20103 Highway 525, Freeland. All are welcome at this potluck gathering; please bring food, stories and music to share.
Bobby’s family and friends will miss his quick smile, warm heart, outrageous sense of humor and the way he enlivened events with his joyous dancing.
Robert Vernon Crosby was born Dec. 26, 1951, at Seattle’s Northgate Hospital and grew up in the North City neighborhood, the fourth of five children born to Robert Vincent Crosby and Virginia Barringer Crosby.
Bobby lived his life in Washington, attending The Evergreen State College. He worked as a carpenter and he had an early adventure as the Seattle Supersonics mascot, the Wheedle.
Bobby loved running, competing in the Seattle Marathon. He enjoyed tutoring South Whidbey students and could often be seen at Good Cheer where he volunteered many hours.
He died on Nov. 27, 2012, at Providence Hospital in Everett from complications of a fall.
He will be missed by his son Lenny Crosby, granddaughter Brittany Crosby and former wife and close friend Donita Crosby, as well as many other loving relatives.
