Margurite Morey of Langley died July 2, 2010 at the age of 91.
Margurite was born April 15, 1919 in Seattle.
She married Francis “Frank” Morey on the eve of World War II. Frank served in the Army Air Corps and was a tailgunner in a bomber called the “Snoozin’ Susan,” and was wounded in action during a mission in North Africa. Susan joined her seriously injured husband as he progressed though several hospitals across the country.
Widowed in 1970, Margurite worked for many years as an assistant to the director of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration at its University of Washington facility.
Margurite was a lifelong Catholic, and was a member of several Western Washington parishes. She was a lover of poetry and walking the parks and beaches of South Whidbey, but mostly she loved the company of her many friends and family.
She is survived by her son Paul Morey and his wife Katya, Langley; niece Beverly Doman, Redmond; niece Joanne Jones, Anacortes; niece Antonette Amato, Portland, Ore.; nephew Michael Schulke, Bellingham; and adopted son Roland Fiore.
A memorial service will be held at 1p.m. Tuesday, July 27 at Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Langley.
