Daisy Chaussee died at the Coupeville home of her niece Micki and Jim Fraser, where she had lived for the past two years.

Daisy was born Nov. 5, 1914 in Bantry, N.D. to John and Iva Doherty. She was the eldest of four daughters.

After graduating from high school, Daisy moved to Montana, where she met Russell Chaussee, whom she married in May 1940.

They had 41 happy years together before Russ passed away in June 1981, while they were living in Issaquah. Daisy and Russ had no children but were the best grandparents to their great-nephews and niece.

Daisy was a fine lady, generous, kind and humorous. We will love and miss her always.

Her sister Lois Swanson and family, niece Micki and family, all of Coupeville, survive Daisy.
