Frank Keegan Wallace, 67, passed away April 27, 2004 at Seattle Medical Rehabilitation Center following a long and courageous battle with myotonic muscular dystrophy. Born Jan. 15, 1937 on the family farm just outside of Langley to Gladney and Grace Wallace, he completed all 12 grades of school at South Whidbey, and is a 1956 graduate of Langley High School. After graduating, he attended two years of college at Everett Community College and one year at the University of Washington. Following college, he worked at Boeing for five years and then at Howard S. Wright Construction Company in Seattle.
In 1962, he married Carolyn Elllsworth and they moved to the farm where Mr. Keegan was raised. They built their home and raised three daughters, Theresa, Carla and Sandy. After moving to the island, Mr. Keegan worked in the Evergreen Business for many years with his brother Jim. Later he went into the construction business, building roads and clearing land.
He believed in hard work and he was always willing to help others. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses and waterskiing and boating. For many years, he served as a trustee at Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Langley.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn; daughter Theresa and husband Jake Mathew, their children Grace and Elijah; daughter Carla and husband Tim Redford and their son, Johnathan; daughter Sandy and husband Kevin Jordan; and brother Jim Wallace and wife Mary; and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on May 8 at 2 p.m. at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church at Sixth and Cascade in Langley.
