Barbara “Auntie Barb” Franck Henderson, 90, died Jan. 5, 2003, at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, Long Beach, Calif.
She was born June 6, 1912, in Oakland, Calif., to George C. and Francis Williamson Franck.
She worked for 30 years at a telephone company in San Francisco.
She met her husband, John Henderson, on a trip to Italy. The couple was married in 1979 and moved to Long Beach. Mr. Henderson died in 1984.
Her childhood included family excursions in Model Ts, trains and horse-drawn carriages to rivers, beaches and mountains. Her early experiences inspired a passion for travel.
She was interested in people, travel, politics and business. She enjoyed family life, children and cooking. She also enjoyed relationships with her family and friends, especially on Whidbey Island.
She is survived by a niece, Barbara “Mully” Mullally, and a nephew, Jim Mullally. She was like a grandmother to Mully’s two children, Cere and Oliver, and a great-grandmother to Cere’s children, Nate and Vida.
