Following long tradition, The Record visited South Whidbey Elementary School to chat with students about Thanksgiving. Read below to find what these little gobblers had to say.
Jordan Vielinski
The Record: What are you excited about with Thanksgiving?
Jordan: “I have my birthday and Thanksgiving at around the same time.”
The Record: What are you thankful of?
Jordan: “I’m thankful for my mom.”
The Record: Are you going to help cook?
Jordan: “I’m helping make the bread.”
Lily Christensen
The Record: What are you thankful of?
Lily: “I’m thankful for my family. I love my family.”
The Record: What is your favorite part about Thanksgiving?
Lily: “I get to have a big party.”
The Record: Do you help your family prepare food for Thanksgiving?
Lily: “I help with making the pumpkin bread.”
The Record: What’s your favorite food on Thanksgiving?
Lily: “Turkey.”
Waylon Furman
The Record: Is there anything you really like about Thanksgiving?
Waylon: “I don’t remember the last Thanksgiving I had.”
The Record: Is there anything you’re thankful of in your life?
Waylon: “I have a Tablet.”
The Record: Do you have a favorite food at Thanksgiving?
Waylon: Granola bars.
Aedan Graham Helley
The Record: What is your favorite part about Thanksgiving?
Aedan: “The part when we eat the desserts.”
The Record: Do you have a favorite food at Thanksgiving?
Aedan: “We don’t usually eat the turkeys but we do eat the broccoli and we do eat macaroni and cheese.”
The Record: Do you help your family with cooking?
Aedan: “Yes. Sometimes we make zebra pie. It’s like ice cream pie that you make and you put whipped cream in little black frosting things on for stripes and it makes zebra pie. I like to help with that part.”
The Record: What else is going to be on the menu?
Aedan: “Uncle Jason brings a fancy kind of treats. It’s called chocolate pudding and it’s really yummy and it has chocolate chips in it.”
The Record: Is there anything you’re thankful of?
Aedan: “Yes. I’m thankful for my family and friends and world.”

Dailee: “The dinner.”

Dailee: “I think turkey. Chips.”

Dailee: “Turkey. I mean chicken.”
