Island County Public Works is hosting an open house to discuss bicycle and pedestrian facilities improvements in Clinton. The open house is slated for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1 at Clinton Community Hall.
The open house is centered around the Clinton Bicycling and Walking Improvement Project, which is aiming to develop the area from Deer Lake Road to the ferry terminal.
County public works said in a press release that it is seeking public input to provide insight and direction to possible improvements. The open house also allows people to learn about options for biking and walking in Clinton, and gives them the opportunity to pitch alternatives.
A workshop will precede the open house from 1 to 4 p.m. at Clinton Community Hall, which allows people to learn about the types of pedestrian and biking facilities being developed today.
For those who aren’t able to attend but would like to provide input or learn about the project, there is a survey for route preferences at http://wikimapping.com/wikimap/walk-bike-ferry.html#.WDXq6JMrKL8. Details for the project can be found on the Island County website.
