The Clinton man charged with first-degree child molestation and second-degree incest pled not guilty Monday.
Dallas Broyles, 38, was arraigned in Island County Superior Court earlier this week.
He will remain in jail until his trial begins Dec. 11, said Island County Prosecutor Greg Banks.
Broyles is being held in Island County jail on $100,000 bail.
Police arrested Broyles, a registered sex offender, Sept. 27 after a tip from the family of the alleged victim.
Police investigated and sheriff’s detective Sue Quandt interviewed the 4-year-old alleged victim.
The prosecutor’s office filed first-degree child molestation and second-degree incest charges against Broyles on Oct. 1.
If convicted Broyles could face more than four years in prison.
The standard sentencing range for offenders with no prior convictions is 51 to 68 months confinement for child molestation in the first degree; and six to 12 months confinement for incest in the second degree. Broyles has already two prior convictions.
Broyles is a level 2 sex offender due to a 2002 Colorado conviction for sexual assault of a child. He also has a 1993 conviction in Utah. Law enforcement continues to investigate the case. However, there are no new developments in the investigation at this point, Banks said.
