Accident in Freeland injures three

Three South Whidbey residents were hurt Thursday afternoon when a car driven by a Marysville man turned in front of them on Highway 525 near Freeland's Short Stop convenience store.

The two cars struck corner-to-corner on the drivers’ sides. Watkins and her passengers, Rick Hill, Jr., 20, and Jason Dorn, 19, were all injured in the crash and were transported to Whidbey General Hospital for treament. Watkins struck her head against the windshield in the crash, while her passengers were shaken. All were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.Leveque was cited at the scene for failing to yield.
