Community spirit is built many ways. Last Friday night at South Whidbey High School, the Oak Harbor bands under the masterful direction of Brandon Nelson (high school) and Andy Judd (middle school) built community music with their counterpart South Whidbey bands.

Thanks to the parents, grandparents and fans of the Oak Harbor jazz ensembles who made a rainy round trip to Langley to enjoy the 18th annual Whidbey Jazz Festival. It was wonderful to see and hear all the of our Island zip codes tapping together in unison, showcasing a full sense of community spirit on Whidbey.

If you enjoy community spirit, hearing our really talented young musicians, and if you support their college scholarships, please remember the next concert (the 19th) during the next spring in Oak Harbor. Hope to see you there.
