A two-vehicle collision momentarily shut down both lanes of Highway 525 last Monday, July 3.
Two men, one estimated to be in his 40s and the other in his 20s, were transported to WhidbeyHealth Medical Center with reported injuries. One was later transferred to Harborview for further consultations.
The wreck occurred around 3 p.m. last Monday when a Subaru Forester was hit from behind on southbound Highway 525 by another vehicle, though South Whidbey Fire/EMS officials couldn’t confirm the make or model. The Subaru was struck after turning left from Crawford Road onto southbound Highway 525.
The Subaru had three passengers in the vehicle, none of whom were transported to WhidbeyHealth, according to South Whidbey Fire/EMS Deputy Chief Wendy Moffatt. The two men in the car that struck them from behind, though, were transported after suffering injuries.
“SR 525 was shut down by WSP (Washington State Patrol) for a while so they could complete their investigation,” Moffatt said.
