Our loving mother Mary Campo (Mary Knox) passed away in the early morning hours on July 14. At almost 91 years old, Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend and she will be truly missed.
Mary was born on Nov. 24, 1926, in Rochester, N.Y., and was raised in an Italian Catholic family. As a young girl she moved to California. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Josephine Campo and sister Adriana Skelly.
In life there was never a time when our mother did not have a rosary in one hand and a pot of something wonderful on the stove or baking in the oven. Her cooking and baking skills were legendary. Mary was a true USC Trojan football fan and loved the Los Angeles Dodgers.
She is survived by her three children, son Robert Knox and wife Cheryl of Vallejo, Calif., and daughters Maryann Bolter of Spokane, and Paula Peters and husband Michael of Freeland; and her two joys in life, her grandchildren Anthony and Sofia Peters.
Mary also leaves behind her nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and condolences at www.whidbeymemorial.com.
Mama,
“Fino a quando ci incontriamo di Nuovo.”
