Candidates vying for open Langley City Council seats will answer questions at a political forum next week.
The forum is slated for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17 at Langley United Methodist Church. The program will be held in the Fellowship Hall.
Candidates will answer questions posed by a moderator as Langley City Council positions 1, 2 and 5 are up for grabs. Incumbent Burt Beusch is running against Christy Korrow for position 1, while incumbent Thomas Gill is up against Peter Morton for position 5.
However, candidates for position 2 won’t attend, as candidate Bill Nesbeitt isn’t able to attend. Nesbeitt is running against incumbent Dominique Emerson. According to a press release, a brief statement from Nesbeitt and Emerson will be read at the forum.
The League of Women Voters is hosting the forum, and will moderate the event. Questions must be submitted in advance to lwv.whidbey@gmail.com by Saturday, Oct. 14.
