Freeland residents Pam and Curtis Eames recently initiated a cleanup and beautification effort in front of the Island County Sheriff’s Office in Freeland.
The Eames, along with friends and local merchants, beautified cement flower boxes in front of the South Precinct’s office that were previously overgrown with giant weeds and considered an “eye sore.”
David and Kathy Gural helped the Eames pull weeds and spread bark. Bayview Farm and Garden donated $200 worth of plants, while Langley-based Venture Out also provided flowers. ACE Hardware in Freeland gave soil and Andrew’s Land Shapers donated a truckload of bark.
Pam Eames wrote that it is now a project of maintaining the flowers, watering and weeding.
