The Island County Housing Authority Board has two vacant seats, leaving county commissioners looking to fill the openings.
There are six seats on the board. Most positions are five-0year terms, although one seat has a two-year term.
The housing authority board promotes sufficient affordable housing, economic opportunity and a discrimination-free living environment.
The board works directly with low-income households to “form effective partnerships to maximize social and economic opportunities,” and strives to do so in a fiscally responsible manner.
Board members meet for up to two hours once a month. Meetings are slated from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every month, except in December. The meeting in December is 10 a.m. on the first Tuesday of the month.
