In a showdown of unbeaten teams, Coupeville edged the South Whidbey High School volleyball team 3-2 Tuesday, Sept. 25, in Langley.
The Wolves pulled out the win 19-25, 25-20, 25-20, 24-26, 15-12.
Down 2-1 going into the fourth game, South Whidbey overcame an early deficit and then survived a Coupeville comeback to force a fifth set.
The decisive fifth game was tied at 11, then several Falcon hitting errors helped Coupeville claim the match.
Emma Leggett led the South Whidbey attack despite being hobbled by an injury that forced her to sit out the third game. She finished with 18 kills, three blocks and eight digs.
Emma Hodson added 12 kills and five blocks, Angelina Wilson recorded 18 digs and Chloe Johnson handed out 36 assists.
