More than a dozen local restaurants are contributing signature soups for Good Cheer Food Bank’s annual Empty Soup Bowl Night 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 28 at Langley United Methodist Church’s Fellowship Hall.
This year’s participating restaurants include: Roaming Radish, Prima Bistro, Saltwater Fish House and Oyster Bar, Orchard Kitchen, China City, The Braeburn, Freeland Cafe, Whidbey Doughnuts, Neil’s Clover Patch Café, Mukilteo Coffee’s Café in the Woods, Useless Bay Coffee Company, Patron Mexican Restaurant and Cozy’s. More may be added this week.
The night of food and community will also feature music by local artist Doug Roraback.
Participants buy either a $20 ticket for their choice of a handmade soup bowl or a $5 mug for soup, or they can buy a ticket to donate to a Food Bank client.
At the event, they choose a handmade and hand-designed soup bowl or a thrift store mug and fill it with soups of their choice. They take the bowl home with them at the end of the evening.
Tickets can be purchased at both Good Cheer Thrift Stores, Good Cheer Food Bank and Whidbey Art Escape in Freeland.
