Bear Creek edged the South Whidbey High School tennis team 3-2 on the Falcons’ courts Friday, Sept. 20.

South Whidbey’s Ian Maddux won in second singles 7-6(9-7), 6-3; and Levi Buck and Ranger Buck captured first doubles 6-4, 6-2.

Max Rodriguez fell in first singles 6-3, 6-4; Ben Roughsedge and Jordan Wu were nipped in second doubles 6-4, 2-6, 7-6(7-1); and Emmett Layman and Nick Black lost in third doubles 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.

The Falcons match with Overlake Monday, Sept. 23, was rained out.

South Whidbey (2-3) goes to University Prep (5-0) at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25.
