A 29-year-old Bellingham man died following a dirt bike accident in Clinton April 16, the Washington State Patrol reported.

Trooper Rocky Oliphant reported that Joshua Heneger was riding a 2006 Honda dirt bike in a wooded area on Jewett Road, which is west of Glendale.

Heneger crashed the dirt bike, Oliphant said, and the end of a handlebar impacted his chest.

Heneger was not wearing a helmet but there was no indication he suffered a head injury.

Heneger complained of trouble breathing and his friends took him to a clinic for help. He was then transported to WhidbeyHealth Medical Center and succumbed to his injury there, the trooper said.
