The South Whidbey girls soccer team will be competing in their first game at the state level this Wednesday, Nov. 10 in Oak Harbor.
The game begins at 6 p.m. and will be played at Wildcat Memorial Stadium.
The Falcons recently defeated Eastside Prep 5-1 on Oct. 30, King’s High School 1-0 on Nov. 2 and Seattle Academy 1-0 on Nov. 4. The team has a 9-2-1 record in their league.
The league champions will be playing against Tenino High School Wednesday evening, a team with a 13-5-0 record.
State regulations dictate that all games must be played on turf fields. Head Coach Terry Swanson is hopeful that the Falcons will be able to leverage the home field advantage.
“It’s a big thing for these kids,” he said.
If the Falcons are victorious, they will advance to the quarter-finals game this Saturday, Nov. 13 at 2 p.m. in Oak Harbor.
