For the next two years, teachers in South Whidbey schools will work an additional three days. The South Whidbey School Board approved the South Whidbey Educational Association contract 4-0 at the board meeting Wednesday. Director Leigh Anderson was absent.
South Whidbey finished in 13th place among 16 teams at the tournament. The Falcons junior varsity team took 12th place.

South Whidbey learned a short memory is a good thing the hard way after a 0-7 loss at Sehome on Friday. The Falcons rebounded to beat Coupeville 5-2 in Langley on Monday.
DUVALL — South Whidbey’s volleyball team rallied for the third straight match to beat Cedarcrest 3-2, a similar outcome of its victory against Coupeville earlier this week.
