Cue the theme music | LETTER TO THE EDITOR

To the editor:

I wrote a letter to the editor some time ago stating I was angry at the state of politics in America. I pointed to the Tea Party in particular.

I know from whence I speak as I get emails from the Tea Party and read them all. For the most part, they seem to be racist, hateful bigots who appeal to what I would politely refer to as low-information voters.

Well, I’m still angry. I have watched the last two Republican debates and saw nothing to help me calm down. This is a group of Tea Party appeasers. The debate saw these presidential hopefuls denigrating union workers, people who need jobs as “lazy,” people who need help with their healthcare costs as not worth helping, educators as tenured lowlifes and Texas Gov. Rick Perry supervising the executing of more and more human beings as something to cheer about. This is the same governor who signed a “pro-life” pledge to court the fundamentalist Christian voting contingency.

This is a perfect example of today’s Republican Party — a party that doesn’t have a clue what the term irony means.

This does not give me the idea that these people are serious about dealing with the very real problems facing America today. America is on fire and these Republican candidates all promise to throw gas on the flames.

I have written the Republican National Party at their headquarters in the Koch Brothers Wing of the United States Chamber of Commerce and suggested that they change their theme music for the upcoming convention to “Send in the Clowns.”

I haven’t heard back from them yet.
