Letter: Biden didn’t willingly leave race

Editor,

Responding to Mr. Ted Noodle’s letter, “Biden’s Action Was a Profile in Courage,” Whidbey News- Times, Aug. 14. Biden was forced off the ticket for another term under immense party pressure as polls showed him likely to lose to Trump.

And he is reportedly harboring bitterness about his treatment from top Democrat figures like Charles Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, and by many members of his own party. Biden didn’t withdraw willingly, he was forced out. No courage involved. The courage would have been if he had defied them and remained on the ticket. It is mystifying as to why Democrats, or any voters, want Bidenomics to continue under a Harris term. It has been an economic, border and crime disaster that Harris supports, is proud of and wants it to continue and add to it, to the detriment and misery of the country and everybody, for another four years.

Mr. Noodle’s support of Harris apparently wants that. Having a “D” after a person’s name does not necessarily confer him/her as better qualified for the job with the best interests of the country in mind. In the case of the big “D,” it is always only in the interests of the party’s goals. Our country sorely needs a change of direction and, lacking another candidate it is Trump who can better do it and save the country, not flip-flopper Harris with her socialist agenda of government control, more taxes and free stuff.

Like the man asked, are you better off now than you were four years ago? What about the next four under a Harris presidency? Get educated on the major issues, vote wisely. The future of our country, and yours, rides on it.
